“A Safe Spiritual Place To Recover"
Greetings Brother or Sister,
You are about to embark on perhaps the most meaningful part of your life. We believe every person is valuable, and worthy of compassion. We help restore individuals and families broken by addiction. Our purpose is to help provide spiritual tools to empower those who are suffering to move forward to a happy, productive life. We are a Twelve Step and Christ-Based Organization; we offer a well structured, clean, modern living facility for men and women.
Enclosed you will find our terms and guidelines to stay at Hatchery House. As you participate Hatchery House team monitors your knowledge and progress using real evaluation methods not just guess work. We don't just use a timeline based system such as 30,60,90 days etc. We look and evaluate actual results. We use these as our guides to determine what and how a member is doing in his or her recovery. If we see a lag in development, or a need for clarification we address the need quickly and effectively. You will find it to be a breath of fresh air in your journey to a sober, clean life of serenity and purpose.
We thank you for your interest in beginning a spiritually based sober life. We also recognize that your choice to Hatchery House spiritual recovery environment is a huge step toward a quality life which includes sanity, well-being and peace. We pray God be with you as you begin your journey.
Sincerely,

- Participation in Recovery Activities
- Responsibility for Helping in Recovery of others--Setting a Good Example
- Bill payment of on time -- There is no grace period. Check out time is by 11:00 AM of the first day after your previous payments expire.
Be Responsible:
- Payments made on time, each Friday.
- We are responsible for our chores, our dishes, our area, and our house as a whole, inside and out.
- We keep the house clean putting things we have used away all the time
- Inside the house shoes are off, floors and surfaces are protected from spills and clutter.
- Dishes are done immediately. All dishes to be cleaned immediately.
- We ask ourself if something can be done to make this place cleaner, more inviting, or more presentable to guests and our fellows taking it upon ourselves to keep this a place we and God are proud of.
Be Respectful:
- Are your words kind, necessary, and true? This is the standard for speech.
- The grouch and the brainstorm were not for us. We don’t complain, gossip, or whine.

- We remain honest, open-minded, and willing to learn from others, our mistakes, our sponsor, and God’s Word.
- On awakening let us think about the twenty-four hours ahead. We consider our plans for the day. Before we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking, especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity, dishonest or self-seeking motives.
- We constructively review our day. Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid? Do we owe an apology? Have we kept something to ourselves which should be discussed with another person at once? Were we kind and loving toward all? What could we have done better? Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time? Or were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life? But we must be careful not to drift into worry, remorse or morbid reflection, for that would diminish our usefulness to others. After making our review we ask God’s forgiveness and inquire what corrective measures should be taken.
- We attend required meetings.
- We participate in new leisure activities change. No longer do we rely solely upon tv to entertain us we do not isolate ourselves. We try new things: reading, service work, games, helping others, exercise, house and community events. We watch, read, and listen to speakers and programs, books, magazines, internet, and music that is uplifting, informative, and profanity/violence free. We eat healthy foods. We pray, meditate, read our Big Book pages 60-63 daily.
